What are your Instagram discovery metrics?
One of the most significant features introduced to Instagram has been the launch of ‘Insights’. This tool enables users to monitor analytics, measure the overall performance of their content, and gain a clearer understanding of their audience. The discovery metrics is an insight that measures the number of people that actually see your content and where they found it. This metric encompasses data from Reach and Impressions.
What is your reach on Instagram?
Your reach refers to the number of unique Instagram accounts that have seen your posts. Like Impressions, reach is also relevant to the number of views your posts get. But it’s narrowed down to unique views only. So, for example, if one of your followers looks at one of your posts multiple times, that follower will only be counted once in your reach results.
What are your Impressions on Instagram?
Your impressions refer to the total number of times all of your posts have been seen. Impressions are broken down by how the user found your post. The most interesting metric is the ‘From Hashtags’ one. It gives you some insight if your hashtags are working. It tells you if people are discovering you through the hashtags they follow or ones they searched for. You won’t see which individual hashtags are attracting the visits unless you use a single hashtag for each post. It’s a great way to compare visits through the hashtags you used on your various posts. ⠀
How to find your discovery section on Instagram
The activity tab essentially provides details on overall page influence and how many people interact with your account.
A small information banner will show up at the bottom of your screen.
Swipe up on the banner to see even more analytics, separated into two categories – Interactions and Discovery.
Interactions give you some basic insights. How many profile visits you had from this posts and how many clicks to the website came from this posts. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Below that is the Discovery section, where you will find REACH and IMPRESSIONS.
